Nourishing on set
Most girls I talk to don’t seem to eat during a shoot day. I get it, you are focusing on doing a good job, and during breaks you are often connecting with people or getting something done quickly like responding to emails ect. Often girls tell me they feel to high strung during a shoot day to think about eating, and then just eat after. But here’s the thing…Your body can only handle that adrenaline cycle for so long.
I used to have terrible anxiety, and what I didn’t realize at the time was that imbalanced blood sugar and anxiety are directly connected! I actually know quite a few models that struggle with anxiety…but it doesn’t have to be this way! Did you know that if you nourish every 3-4 hrs with balanced foods like, a healthy carb, healthy fat, and protein, your blood sugar stays balanced? Your cortisol will be much happier, and you will find you don’t struggle with bloat and digestion issues! The very things that you think eating will do- make you bloated on set ect- are actually caused by not eating.
You want to be a friend to your body. You want your body to feel cared for, loved, and safe. Pausing to nourish your body with loving Whole Foods keeps all of your systems happier. Your hormones, and your mental health will thank you too! Remember that choosing to nourish throughout a shoot day is a form of self-care for your body. Don’t ignore your body while you are working, strengthen your body cues by responding with love.
