Nourish from a place of LOVE

I never thought about HOW I was eating when I was really overly obsessed with health. I thought about the what…and I thought about it a lot. The obsession truly had me all wound up in fear. I really felt like I was not enough and I somehow thought that being “perfect” with my food would help me to be enough. It was all fear based. Did I eat? YES! I was eating tons of really nutrient dense foods, but I swear my body wasn’t able to absorb all that beautiful food because I was such a ball of ‘fight or flight’. It’s like I was running from my own body, and working against my life. I didn’t feel vibrant inside and guess what… food alone wasn’t going to solve that. Does HOW you eat impact you? YES. Your mentality is incredibly important.

Do you respect you? Are you grateful for your body and for your life? Is your desire to nourish with foods that will love you back? Sometimes that desire is turned into fear based eating and we have to pause and think about that. I love to remind myself that I approach nourishing with “most of the time” thinking. I’m human, and I love to leave room and grace for that. An expectation of perfection will begin to control you, and not only that, it will steal your joy and vibrancy for life. It will even impact your digestion, gut health, and beyond.

This valentines day, you don’t have to be obsessed with your body. But you may want to take a pause and look at HOW you are nourishing your body and your life. Is it out of love and respect? Or is fear creeping in. Freedom and confidence is yours sis. It’s day by day.

xo, Joy
